Vitalus team of experts led and worked in partnership with various academic institutions (Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and School of Medicine and Harvard University School of Medicine) to design epidemiological studies to characterize and understand the disproportionate burden of disease affecting the vulnerable and disadvantaged populations in the US and internationally.

This award was a 5-year multi-country population-based HIV study to measure prevalence of HIV and population health indicators in Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Vitalus led the implementation of data-driven interventions and assess impact HIV prevention interventions among youths 18 to 30 year of age.

Vitalus conducted population-based surveys to measure prevalence of HIV/HBV/HCV/syphilis and key health indicators to guide HIV interventions among high-risk populations (injection drug users, sex workers, transportation workers). Vitalus directed, and managed data collection in 6
cities in Afghanistan.
